Steve Gold's $10.8M Soho Loft Hits Market Amid Family Growth

Former ‘Million Dollar Listing New York’ star Steve Gold is gearing up to put his Soho loft on the market for a staggering $10.8 million as he prepares for an exciting new chapter in his life. The luxurious three-bedroom, 3½-bath penthouse occupies the entire top floor of a historic building on 22 Wooster St., boasting a unique blend of cast-iron and brick architecture dating back to 1920.

Gold, a prominent real estate agent from the Corcoran Group, personally handles the listing for this exclusive property. Initially priced at $9.95 million when it was first introduced to the market in December 2021, the co-op residence gained attention with a feature in Architectural Digest. Despite attracting an offer, Gold decided to withdraw the listing as he and his partner, Luiza Gawlowska, along with their beloved daughter Rose, weren’t quite ready to move at the time.

However, with another little one on the way, Gold has shared with Gimme Shelter his plans to seek out a larger living space to accommodate the expanding family. Although contemplating various options within the city, Gold expressed interest in properties like One High Line. Intriguingly, he is involved in the sales of two penthouses with staggering price tags of $49 million and $52 million that are currently in contract at the sought-after location.

Despite owning a lavish 10.5-acre estate in Greenwich, Conn., valued at $7.3 million, Gold clarified that this property serves as an investment rather than a future residence, with no immediate plans for relocation.

The penthouse underwent an extensive renovation process, including a complete overhaul that left no stone unturned. From arched windows that exude charm to 11-foot ceilings, exposed beams, and columns, the residence incorporates 16-inch-wide hardwood floors, in addition to 14 new windows and five skylights. Premium materials sourced from Italy, such as stone, along with custom Venetian plasterwork by artist Benjamin Lai, enhance the overall aesthetic of the space.

Upon entry via a key-locked elevator, visitors are greeted by a spacious great room that seamlessly combines living and dining areas, featuring floating art walls and a cozy alcove presently configured as a ‘TV nook.’ Furthermore, there’s the possibility of converting this space into a staircase leading to a private outdoor area available for separate purchase agreement.

The primary bedroom suite stands out with its dual walk-in closets, complete with custom metal and glass shelving and integrated lighting. The accompanying spa-like bathroom boasts radiant heat floors, ensuring a luxurious and comfortable experience.

Notably, the elegant penthouse also includes a sky-lit chef’s kitchen equipped with an island accommodating six individuals, an ideal setup for culinary enthusiasts who enjoy entertaining. Additional amenities consist of a second kitchen featuring dual ovens, a warming drawer, and a wine cooler, along with a small home office tucked away off the great room.

Situated in a prime location between Grand and Canal streets, the 13-unit boutique building offers a unique opportunity for prospective buyers to experience the epitome of luxury living in the heart of Soho. As Gold bids farewell to his cherished loft, the forthcoming sale presents a chance for discerning individuals to own a piece of architectural and aesthetic excellence in one of New York City’s most coveted neighborhoods.
