Drew Bledsoe's Savage Take on Tom Brady's Divorce Drama

Drew Bledsoe, the former Patriots quarterback, took a playful jab at Tom Brady during Netflix’s ‘Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.’ Bledsoe humorously highlighted two experiences he had that Brady never will: being the No. 1 overall NFL draft pick and celebrating a 28th wedding anniversary. The audience erupted with laughter as Bledsoe teased Brady for boasting more rings but missing out on these unique life moments.

Bledsoe’s quip came in the midst of a star-studded event on May 5, 2024, where the ex-quarterback joked about Brady’s late-round draft status and recent split from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen. The roasting didn’t stop there, as comedian Nikki Glasser also took her turn tearing into Brady over his breakup with actress Bridget Moynahan.

Brady, known for his competitive spirit, wasn’t spared from the comedy onslaught. During the roast, he furiously reacted to a joke about Patriots owner Robert Kraft, emphasizing, ‘Don’t say that s–t again,’ showcasing his fiery personality even in jestful moments.

The divorce between Brady and Bündchen in 2022 marked the end of a 13-year marriage that produced two children, son Benjamin and daughter Vivian. Following the split, Bündchen has moved on with her jiu-jitsu instructor, adding another layer to the roast material targeting Brady.

The roast also revisited the pivotal moment in Patriots history when coach Bill Belichick decided to elevate Brady over Bledsoe, shaping the course of the franchise for years to come. Belichick set the stage for the roast by humorously referencing his decision, illustrating the enduring impact of that fateful choice.

Bledsoe, who transitioned to other teams before retiring in 2007, humorously reacted to the familiar scenario, exclaiming, ‘Are you f–king kidding me? Again?’ This comment alluded to the game-changing hit by linebacker Mo Lewis in 2001 that led to Brady seizing the starting role and propelling the Patriots to multiple championships.

While Bledsoe playfully teased Brady, the legendary quarterback’s career accomplishments speak for themselves. After securing numerous titles with New England, Brady continued his success in Tampa Bay, clinching his seventh Super Bowl in 2021 before retiring in 2023. The lasting impact of Brady’s career, marked by resilience and excellence, cements his status as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
